What is Beat the Box?

Beat the Box is a two-stage group tournament format. Players are divided into groups of 4, and each group plays round-robin matches on their own court. After all Stage 1 matches are complete, players are redistributed into new groups based on their performance, creating Stage 2 with more balanced competition.

How it works

Stage 1: Players play with and against everyone on their court (3 matches each). Each group has its own mini-leaderboard.

Stage 2: Based on Stage 1 results, players are reassigned to new courts. Top performers from each group are grouped together, as are second-place finishers, and so on. This creates competitive matches at every level.

Stage 2 grouping (based on Stage 1 rankings)

8 players (2 courts)
A+: 1st and 2nd from both groups
B+: 3rd and 4th from both groups
12 players (3 courts)
A+: All 1st place + best 2nd place
B+: Remaining 2nds + best 3rds
C+: Remaining 3rds + all 4ths
16 players (4 courts)
A+: All 1st place finishers
B+: All 2nd place finishers
C+: All 3rd place finishers
D+: All 4th place finishers

Requirements: Beat the Box requires exactly 8, 12, or 16 players (2, 3, or 4 courts).

Winner: The winner is determined from the A+ group in Stage 2, where the top performers from each initial group compete against each other.
